John Mandelbaum has over 30 years of commercial real estate investment, development, property management and brokerage experience. He founded the business known today as Mandelbaum Properties in 1999.

 

John’s acquisitions and developments have included a variety of retail, office, industrial and residential land development projects across Iowa, ranging from build-to-suits for the federal government to distressed multi-tenant retail acquisitions to speculative commercial developments. Under John’s leadership, Mandelbaum Properties has consistently created significant long-term value for its investors through stable income generation and cost management, while minimizing risk by aggressively reducing debt.

 

Prior to Mandelbaum Properties, John was the co-founder and president of Crowley Mandelbaum Commercial Real Estate, a brokerage firm in Des Moines, and a commercial broker at Iowa Realty. Prior to venturing into real estate, John worked as the fourth generation of Mandelbaum’s at Younkers, the family department store business.

 

John earned a BA degree from the University of Colorado.
